What's My Child Learning This Week?
Word Wall- The words for this week: Christmas, made, brothers, best, decorations. This week we also focus on present to past tense (adding -ed).
Reading-We continue working on main idea/summarization. We are reading the story The Alvin Ailey Kids: Dancing as a Team.
Math-We continue learning about fractions and how we can use them in our everyday life. We also explore problem solving strategies!
Science-We begin our unit on dinosaurs!
Writing- Students continue to publish their pen pal letters. Students also begin to work on the Christmas bulletin board.
Tests/Quizzes
- Fraction quiz tomorrow, December 1st. Students completed a study guide in class and also have a practice sheet for homework today.
- Addition timed test Wednesday, December 2nd. Practice sheets went home this Monday.
- Reading quiz on main idea/summarization Thursday, December 3rd. Study guide will go home tomorrow.
- Word Wall quiz Friday, December 4th.
Important Reminders
- Photo with Santa (160 lps.) this Thursday, December 3rd.
- Please donate clothes for Navidad Sin Frio. Thanks!
- 2nd Grade International Fair is the week of December 14th. A schedule was sent home today and invitations will be sent later this week!
